Description
Describe the bug:
We recently started using the Organized app for midweek meeting scheduling. After entering all publisher details and marking which parts each one can handle, we noticed that the autofill feature is assigning parts unevenly. Some students are receiving monthly assignments, while others, who are also eligible, aren’t being assigned at all.
To ensure the app had accurate history, we manually typed in all midweek meeting parts from May through August, based on records from the previous Life and Ministry overseer. This was done to update the “last assignment date” for each brother/sister.
We also tried removing all assignments entirely and re-autofilling from July to December, but the same issue occurred.
We confirmed the uneven distribution by exporting the Meeting Schedule PDF and using Ctrl+F to search each publisher’s name. Some names appear four times, while others never appear at all, despite having eligible parts checked in their profiles.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
- Add all publishers to the congregation and mark which meeting parts they can handle.
- Manually fill in all midweek meeting parts for May to August. (Already made pre-Organized)
- Use the autofill feature to generate assignments for September to December.
- Review the generated assignments and compare student participation. (Exported Meeting Schedule PDF, ctrl. F each publisher name. Some names are repeated 4 times, others never)
Expected behavior:
Autofill should distribute assignments fairly among all eligible students, especially when their profiles indicate they can handle the same parts. No student should be consistently skipped unless restricted by settings or assignment history.
