What is the problem you are trying to solve with this feature?
Currently, the “Sort by” setting in the search options always resets to “Name”, and the column sorting in the item table is not preserved.
This means users have to manually reapply their preferred sorting every time they perform a search or revisit the item list, which is time-consuming and inconvenient, especially when managing large inventories.
What is the solution you are proposing?
I propose that Homebox saves and restores:
The selected “Sort by” option in the search settings.
The active column sorting in the item table.
These preferences should persist between searches and ideally across sessions, so users can continue working with their preferred view without reconfiguring it each time.
What alternatives have you considered?
At the moment, the only alternative is to manually reselect the preferred sorting options every time.
There is currently no built-in way to customize or persist these settings.
Additional context
This feature would significantly improve usability for users who frequently work with filtered views and large item lists.
Similar inventory and management systems often provide persistent view settings, which helps streamline daily workflows.
