What is the problem you are trying to solve with this feature?

Is there a way to disable authentication? All we need for our household is a single user, really.

What is the solution you are proposing?

I'd like to have an always-on default user.

There are currently no ways to disable authentication, and currently no plans to allow for the disabling of authentication.

Got it. Could you please tell how demo site achieves pre-filled authentication data? I would like to use that as an alternative approach. Thanks

That's a hard coded system built into Homebox (HBOX_DEMO=true), there isn't a way to prefill using URL parameters or anything of that nature.
