Hello, everyone,
Thought I would share a nice little workflow that I happened upon this week using a scanning app called Genius Scan.
Working very nicely for digitizing all those little user manuals, that you might occasionally reference, but which can't be found on the internet.
As an example, here's a vesa mount that I bought a few years ago and which is in my inventory.
The product came with a little paper manual like this. And as usual, only a small fraction of the pages are actually necessary for installation.
This is the app that I'm using on Android and I highly recommend it.
It has some really nice features like autocapture and automatic curvature correction. So if you pin down the pages a little bit, you usually get pretty good results.
Once you've finished scanning your paper documents, you'll get a PDF like this.
Export this locally
Then simply edit your item and add the PDF as a file.
If you're doing this on Android, the photos and videos option will expose the picker, even though it's neither a course.
PDF then shows up as an attachment.
and best of all, the PDF viewer in the home box works really nicely, so you can read the doc without having to even leave the app.
