[Feature Request] Maintain image aspect ratios

What is the problem you are trying to solve with this feature?

In item thumbnails/pictures they appear squished depending on the aspect ratio.

What is the solution you are proposing?

It would be nice to have the option to have it maintain the ratio and either be cropped or shown with borders.

I totally agree with this.
Also 500x500px seems too low for todays standards

This is already solved in the nightly builds, and will be part of the next release.
