How to assign rooms to HAMH entities in Google Home? #709
-
I have successfully created and added a HAMH bridge to Google Home. It includes a few test entities (lights and smart plugs). My test entities appear in the Google Home app, however I cannot assign rooms to the entities individually. The Bridge and test lights/smart-plugs all appear in a device grouping called “In your home”. The settings of each of those entities shows a grayed out “Home” section with the name of my bridge device (also grayed out). So, it seems that I cannot edit the location of each test entity. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and/or having a solution? I’m running the following latest versions: |

I thought I had a simple answer saying its done under the Devices tab in Google Home but this seems to no longer work. I have MQTT thermometers in rooms and some that were left in "In your home" and I can see and change the room on the ones that were assigned rooms previously but the ones "In your home" have no Room option shown at all to even select it. I'm not sure at what point this became unselectable. |

It appears it is still doable, but not from the Devices tab and only for existing rooms.
From Settings tab, expand "Devices, groups and rooms", select existing room, then select "Choose devices".
