Lock Screen Wallpaper Stuck (Doesn't Change With Theme) #651
Description
- WDD Version: 5.6.1
- OS Version: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26100 Build 26100
Steps to Reproduce:
- Install theme online
- Set lock screen theme
- Change to other themes
- Desktop wallpaper changes, but lock screen stuck on the 1st theme selected (does not change light modes either)
- Stuck wallpaper is keeping itself with the updated theme in 'C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData\S-1-5...\ReadOnly\LockScreen_x'. (example in image below)
(Stuck wallpaper name always ends in 'notdimmed.jpg')
Are you using the Microsoft Store version of WDD?: No (but I have reproduced the issue on the MS version too)
Additional Notes:
- I am aware that a similar thread was opened for previous versions of WDD, and I believe this post provides more information on the issue.
- This issue started happening by itself. I have tried reinstalling, deleting Windows lock screen items in regedit to reset, and deleting all lock screen folders in SystemData - none have solved the problem.
- I have also tried removing the stuck image (which required giving myself permissions), and this worked, but now it has reset the 'stuck' image to the current wallpaper. So, upon selecting a new theme again, the issue recurs with this new 'stuck' image, which ends in 'notdimmed.jpg'.
I'm very thankful to t1mm0thyj for this open-source project and hope there is a simple fix for this problem.
