WinDD Error when opening - logfile could not be opened #659

Issue had occurred in the last 24 hours.
Error message:
"[Errors occurred]
The logfile 'C:\Program Files (x86)\WinDynamicDesktop\WinDynamicDesktop.exe.log' could not be opened: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Changes made in last 24 hours:

  • updated to .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.20
  • Windows 11 update to 26200.6584
  • WDD Version: 5.6.1 x64
  • OS Version: Windows 11 Pro 26200.6584

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Update to latest build of Windows 11. Update .NET Desktop Runtime to 8.0.20.
  2. Set WinDD to autostart at login. Restart PC, error message occurs.
