I heard about the sales issues and layoffs that occurred a few days ago. My condolences. After learning about this situation, a marketing solution for this problem immediately came to my mind. And since it seems obvious to me, I decided to share it. I hope it would help the team.
You are currently selling UI components and offering a single price for the entire set. By setting a single price, you unknowingly divide your market into 3 parts:
As you can see, the problem is that you are not getting enough money from the first and third parts of the market. And the second part of the market, having once bought lifetime access, no longer pays you. So it's not surprising that you're losing profits.
The real reason for the problem lies in the insufficient use of your competitive advantage. You think you're selling beautiful UI components written with TailwindCSS. But in fact, you are selling your design expertise by implementing it through your own framework.
The needs of the first part of the market are low. These are the developers and designers who bought your RefactoringUI book and use TailwindCSS in their small projects. They don't need 300+ components, they want to develop them themselves, but do it at your expert level.
You are already meeting the needs of the second part of the market. They trust your expertise and buy your components to create default projects faster. They also buy any of your training materials.
The needs of the richest customers (the third part of the market) are not satisfied. They would like to hire you directly as experts to create unique designs for them.
If you want financial stability, you need to change your business offerings to meet all three parts of your market.
With the third segment of the market everything is simple: you can sell your expertise directly to them. Let them hire you as experts for a lot of money.
Such an offer will not suit the first and second segments, because you do not have so many experts, and they do not have so much money. So here's my suggestion:
