Layer Selection When Using Batch Processing

There may be a simple solution to this that I'm overlooking, but when I save a macro from history and it includes selecting a different layer the macro doesn't select the layer. This results in blending modes being implemented on wrong layer and incorrect results. Is there a different way of selecting layer that does show up in macros? Perhaps maybe I could manually edit the pdm file photodemon creates for the macro? I'm just not sure of how that specific action should be written into the pdm. Speaking of which is there a document listing possible actions/lines the pdm outputs in its processes? Apologies again if this has been addressed but I haven't found it in my searches.
