Tauri built-in Apple AppGroup

We developed several apps that belongs to an app group and need to access shared storage on iOS. Does Tauri have built-in support for Apple AppGroup configuration?

What exactly? I only know of the com.apple.security.application-groups and keychain-access-groups entitlements which you can manually configure like this for macOS https://v2.tauri.app/distribute/macos-application-bundle/#entitlements or in xcode for iOS (e.g. tauri dev --open).

I never worked with app groups, is there something else you'll need?

I haven't tried this, it might have worked just adding the setup on the appstore connect. I'm developing an on-device inference app and don't want to let my users download huge model files for every app I have in the same group.

Practical example, I have two app identifiers for one of my app, say com.tauri.app and com.tauri.app-debug. I've installed the debug version obviously, since I'm the developer, and I've download 30++ GB models to the sandbox dir of the debug app.

When I install the release app, com.tauri.app, I want to be able to reuse those downloaded files, instead of separately download the models again for my released app. I think that's what the App Group feature solves: I can use a shared application directory for several apps within my development team.

hmm yeah, the first entitlement together with https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundation/filemanager/containerurl(forsecurityapplicationgroupidentifier:) sounds like the solution then but i am not sure our file system plugin can handle these urls 🤔
