Outdated Call Tracking Demo - Need Help with SIP, Call Recording, and Telnyx Integration #30

Hi Team,

I noticed that the Call Tracking Demo in this repository appears to be outdated, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to handle my current use case. I'm hoping someone can provide guidance or point me to a newer example.

My Use Case

I have a phone with SIP connection capabilities and a Telnyx number, and I need to:

  1. Redirect incoming calls to the SIP-connected device.
  2. Allow the SIP-connected device to make outbound calls using the Telnyx number.
  3. Record all calls (inbound and outbound) using Telnyx.

My Questions

  1. How can I route inbound calls from my Telnyx number to the SIP device?
  2. How can I configure the SIP device to make outbound calls using the Telnyx number?
  3. Should I use SIP Trunking or a Voice API application for this use case?
  4. How can I enable call recording for both inbound and outbound calls? Is there a Telnyx-specific API or feature that simplifies this?
  5. Are there specific configuration steps or examples I should follow for this setup?

Where I'm Stuck

The existing documentation and examples haven’t clarified how to handle all aspects of this setup, particularly with recording calls for both inbound and outbound traffic. The Call Tracking Demo looks somewhat relevant, but it seems outdated and may not align with Telnyx's current capabilities.

Request

  • Is there an updated example or documentation for integrating SIP devices with Telnyx for both inbound/outbound calling and call recording?
  • Could someone provide tips, configuration steps, or code examples to achieve this?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!
