Persisting messages server-side

Hello Teamspeak!

First of all, thanks for the hard work and making it possible for individuals to host their own private teamspeak servers!

Now to my question. Is it at any point planned to enable server-side persistence of chat messages?

It would be a great feature and enhance the experience. I also think it is expected from many users that chat messages are always available and also shared between all members of a community / server unless some privacy settings define it otherwise.

This and chat only channels within a server. That is all Teamspeak 6 really needs.

A great suggestion. Especially also considering the amount of discord users who might be crossing over to TS in the coming months (due to the controversial privacy updates/verifications which are coming soon).

Also, I understand that in the TS community, the notion often comes up that "TS just isn't designed/envisioned that way" is IMO not a proper excuse. The feature should just be exist and left up to server hosters to enable it if they want to.

Yes ! Lets us decide about that please ! Friends and me have our own dedicated TS Server, we are playing counter strike and just also want some channels about smokes and grenades stuff in the game ! What can't be done without group chats. But if we want to sort our stuff, we would need like 10 groups chat for that ? Oh cmon, just let us create chat channels !!!

+1 to this, this is really the only feature missing to completely replace my groups Discord.

Yes, we agree that this would be a valuable feature. We actually started working on it in the past, but due to the number of other priorities currently on our plate, the topic has not come up again so far. It is still tracked internally in our ticket system
