Text field like nickname wont accept non-standard letters

I tried to set my name using Mathematical Fraktur letters, and tried to connect to my local server and I got a error like "bad parameters".

Then I tried to change my name after connecting to the server but I got the same error.

So I'm not sure if this is a bugfix or a feature request anyway, I'd like to use any and all Unicode character inside a text field (like Nick-name, status, Description, etc.) that doesn't require a standard format (like email, phone-number, dob, etc.).
