Global flags not at the start of the expression at position 20

Hello guys, when I follow the instruction and run the example script with command: "sudo python3 ./examples/create_metric.py". The script is still running but only create api clients with no sensors or metric then error: "re.error: global flags not at the start of the expression at position 20". Could anyone have solution for this?
