Multiple questions batch editing, transfer type

Hi, I have multiple questions are these feature are yet to develop or I am not able to explore them?

1. Does it support batch editing of transactions?
2. How does transfer transaction is added? I chose category as transfer but it doesn't ask from which account.
3. Does it support Credit card minus amount/due date

This has been requested before, but I have not gotten around to it. I will create a work item for this, so that it can make it into a future release.

Currently, transfer transactions do not automatically move money from one account to another. The proper workflow would be to create a negative transaction in the account that is transferring the money and a positive transaction in the account that is receiving the money. Budget Board will handle updating the balances of each account, and if both transactions are tagged with Transfer, then the two transactions will offset each other in places like the Budgets page.

I'm not sure I fully understand the question here, so if I don't fully answer the question, let me know.

When SimpleFIN adds Credit Card transactions, the balance starts off at 0, and as you spend, it will add a bunch of negative amount transactions, which results in a negative balance on the Credit Card account. When you make a payment on the Credit Card, a positive transaction is added to the account (and a negative transaction is added to the account used to pay off the Credit Card). The two payment transactions should be tagged with the Credit Card Payment category, so they offset each other in places like the Budgets page.

SimpleFIN handles creating these transactions automatically, but if you are adding transactions manually, you can follow this workflow.

I’d like to also voice my eagerness to see batch/bulk editing of transactions! In terms of implementation I think it could be

• a multi-select of transactions in the transactions panel, which might be more intuitive from a UI standpoint, or
• Support for additional and multiple criteria when creating automatic rules, which might be easier to implement

I think adding additional criteria to the automatic rules, like an account name and account type, along with the support to use multiple criteria when making a rule could cover a lot of situations where a user might want to bulk edit. For instance:

if account type == “credit card” AND transaction amount > 0, then set category to “Credit Card Payment”

or

if account institution contains “fidelity” and account type is not “Money Market”, then set category to “hide from transactions”
