Unable to get SMTP configuration working with dumb smtp relay

Hello!
I'm working on setting up Budget Board and trying to get SMTP working. I have a dumb SMTP relay that listens on port 25 and doesn't require a password. However, I see multiple errors that says the smtp password cannot be blank. Is there a way around this?

Oh, yeah I may have made SMTP password required if you have the email stuff enabled.

I can change it to optional. I'll try to put out a patch later this evening.

Awesome! I will try it out when you push it.

Also, for a feature request, can there be an option to Resend a verification email? For example, when I was testing out the deployment, the verification email would fail to send, so I would make a change to the SMTP settings, but couldn't test resending it. I would blow away all the data and start again. Obviously, once you get SMTP going, you may not need it, but may make it easier for troubleshooting if someone switching SMTP settings. :)

I pushed the v3.2.3 release which now doesn't require the password. I don't have a way to test this so feel free to reopen the issue if you still have any issues.

I'll break out the resend feature into a separate issue.

Thanks for the logs, I'll take a closer look at this sometime this weekend.

I have some other changes I want to make to the SMTP integration, so I'll use this as an opportunity to clean that up a bit.

Ok, I have changed the Email sender API to use something that isn't deprecated, and it seems this new API has a way to auto-negotiate the connection better. This hopefully should resolve the SSL issue you were seeing.

I also was able to add the resend button while I was making the changes. You should see an option in the notification you get when you try to log into an unverified account.

Release v3.2.4 should have the fix.
