Symmetric Encryption

I just found this plugin, originally coming from Meld Encrypt, looking for a note encryption plugin that was using more standard libraries so that notes would be reliably accessible outside of Obsidian. This plugin seems perfect.

I notice in the README, though, that there is currently no support for symmetric encryption. A simple symmetric option just using a passphrase for a given note is exactly what I'd be looking for, and seems like it would avoid so many problems with storing, maintaining, (and losing!), key pairs across multiple devices.

Is there any chance for a simple, per-note, symmetric encryption option?

I already planned to integrate symmetric encryption from the beginning but have some other priorities first, e.g. adding tests.
Would you be able to contribute to add symmetric encryption?
