For anyone wondering what the status of this project is. The status is brilliant.
It hasn't been updated in years because reached maturity early on and is essentially perfect as is.
This framework was created as a labor of love by a team that had grown tired of chasing frameworks. So they decided to build one framework that would make webcomponents as simple as they could possibly be. Once it was bug free they left it sit and went their separate ways. The whole idea then was to only update the code when it was strictly necessary.
While webcomponents are now standardized and have achieved mass adoption, nothing has really changed for this project, it was built for the future and that future is now.
I am one of the original designers. I'm the only one left who still has a live github account. Unfortunately, this account didn't exist at the time I worked on this project and so even though I am a member of the original team, I lost commit access by changing accounts during the pandemic. This is why the code remains unchanged since the last commit in 2019 when it was realized that markdown templates had caused us to exceed our original scope and thus we removed them.
Going forward, I'm planning to take over maintenance and so if you have any questions, concerns or issues please feel free to open an issue here and I'll try to help you as quickly as possible. I doubt it will be necessary to maintain a fork, but I may fork the project and make commits there if I notice any bitrot setting in.
On the other hand it's been years and this works flawlessly, so I doubt a fork will necessary any time soon.
