Text Adventure Literacy Jam 2025 is currently underway and submissions are open from 1 March to 30 April 2025. This is a competition with some generous prizes where the aim is to write a text adventure (or parser-based IF) suitable for beginners to the genre.

This year, we have introduced a mentoring scheme whereby beginner authors (as opposed to beginner players) can seek a mentor to help them get started, provide design advice and coding advice.

Would you like to be a Quest mentor? You only need to be an experienced text adventure player and experienced Quest author. If so, familiarise yourself with the rules at the competition's home page (link above) and volunteer your services at one of the following locations:

• Text Adventure Literacy Jam Community page

We have at least one new author seeking a Quest mentor.
