Virtual text fills the entire screen when a local variable is an object with many members

I'm debugging a python application where some of my variables are dictionaries containing many elements some of them multi-dimensional numpy arrays. This effectively fills the screen making debugging unusable, so I will have to disable this otherwise very useful plugin. Please see attached screenshot. I'd suggest some form of truncation when presented with a big object like this.

You can use something like this in your configuration, so long texts are truncated.
