Description
i asked in game, and there is no option to just drag items within your inventory (as well as in the bank) to organize them personally, which seem like a very basic and necessary Ul tool.
so id like to ask that, as well as a few other related things with it, if possible, as it feels very difficult to play without being able to organize my stuff based on my current relevance or personal way of playing,
(like putting batwings behind my gear earlygame when i regularly deliver them for money, to separate them away from other monster loot i currently just want to stash regularly, or separate things that are currently relevant to a quest or anything else im doing, and i can think on other examples but i hope you get the point)
just to clarity, i am using ManaSource client (via flatpak), but from my understanding the other client only have automatic sorting, which doesn't answer my needs anyway, as its not my costume organization, and honestly i never like using something like that sense i like to figure my own sorting.
so what id like to ask, for starters, is naturally the ability to drag items within my inventory and bank, and preferably also between them, as in moving an item to an empty slot move it there, and moving an item to another existing item will either switch between them, or push the items further to free a slot for the dragged item, preferably both with the latter being done when releasing the item while holding a hotkey for it [that can be changed to a preferred key like other hotkeys please].
also, have a setting to switch what the default behavement between those 2 is, if you prefer it will always just push the items and not switch unless you use the hotkey for it.
in addition, id like to ask for other more extensive options:
Placeholders, for items that are currently not in the inventory [or bank], as in having the option on rightclick menu on an item while its in the inv'/bank on a specific slot to turn the slot its in to a placeholder slot for it, so later when you remove the item, no other item can take that slot, and if that item comes back into the inv'/bank where the placeholder is, it naturally goes to said slot rather then where you dragged it.
in terms of UI look, for example showing the item in like 70% transparent when its an empty placeholder for it,
and having like graycolor frame (or any other low saturated color based on the UI theme), tho maybe some would just want to set that color in settings to something like high saturated obstructive color intentionally XD ..so maybe that option is better anyway to have a setting for it to chose the color,
this is around slots that are currently set as placeholders whether the item is there or not,
tho maybe some would want a different color if the item is there, if you are ok with going for more extensive settings options for the inv'/bank UI.
mind you that when dragging an item or placeholder to another in the same menu it will switch their place like normal items, but when doing so between inv' and bank, unless you are holding the hotkey to push items&placeholders to free a slot for it, it will throw it like normal to the next free slot,
i guess it would be nice if the UI to "show" a preview of where it will place it while dragging it above the menu? kynda needed regardless for the pushing hotkey i think, tho idk if its worth the hassle to dev such a preview, but thats the dev choice, i just suggested something i would like and find useful, like everything else here =3 .
Locked Slots, for spacing, as in the option to right click an empty slot to have a menu option to Lock it, so that nothing can use it, as its used as a separator,
also have that dropdown option on a slot with an item, in case you want to make an empty locked slot after it, by doing so pushing the other items after to make space for it.
in terms of UI i guess having a thin X over all of it, again like before i guess low saturated color based on the UI theme, and better have a setting for it to pick a color.
mind you that when dragging, if its with the push hotkey then just like prev' suggestion push it normally with everything else,
but on normal drag, might be better to actually throw it in the next free slot after the locked slot, not switch them.
also that way, if you make for example a whole row of locked slots, dragging an item on it throw it to the "section" after, and if you also implement that it will push the next locked-slots "group" that makes the next row for another "section" to create a free slot in this section specifically, that essentially creates the option for a whole sections-tool essentially,
lastly, smallest but particularly vital if you implement any of the 2 previous suggestions, rightclicking an empty slot that have items after it, will give a dropdown option to remove that empty slot by pulling everything after it by one slot,
additionally, have the reverse, the option to create an empty slot after this one to push everything,
in this case, you might not want to remove empty slots when restarting the game, but rather have that option manually somewhere to "clear all empty slots", but i don't recommend next to options you might be using all the time, as some would find this option destructive for their setup, or best just have a "are you sure?" for it, or rather just the option in the settings to enable such prompt and have it off by default.
this is all the ideas i came on the spot that look really useful to me, based on your current inventory UI as a base which seem to work as an array,
but for me the most critical is just the options before the "extensive" stuff i suggested, to drag items around, or push an item between others, which is what i came here for to begin with,
so please implement that at least. X3
