Possible port to Date field

I just found your amazing solution. As a groovy non-knower I wonder how much effort it would take to port this scripts for a date field.
Could you give me a hint?

Hi fjakop,

I would think that your suggested port shouldn't be difficult:

• You'd change the configurationScript.groovy file to:
  ** list the ID # of the ScriptedField date-type field which is going to masquerade as the other date-type field
  ** list the name of the that other (let's call it "primary") date-type field which is going to be masqueraded
• You'd modify the Groovy and JavaScript to generate the masquerading field as a date-type. My code retrieves the possible select list options from the "primary" date-type field and then creates a HTML select field on the fly; your port won't need to do that as the ScriptedField won't show unless the "primary" date-type field lacks a value -- so all your ScriptedField needs to do is display itself making it look like the "primary" field.
