Does a self_update preserve data about deployed container-groups?

We ran a test and after a self-update the directory /data/tedge-container-plugin did not exist any longer. But all content in /data/tedge still exits.

It depends on which volumes you've mounted. The instructions use tedge:/data/tedge, so that means that /data/tedge-container-plugin won't be persisted (as it is outside the /data/tedge folder).

If you want volumes to be persisted, then they must be declared.

So it looks like that tedge-container-plugin settings will have to be modified to use a nested folder of /data/tedge.

I believe this PR should enable the persistence of tedge-container-plugin data by default. #88 (the tests are still running though).
