OPCUA example issue in running mosquitto service

Although maybe not unique to the OPCUA exampe ...

Launched the docker image under Rancher, and getting ...

Checking if OpenRC is available.

Checking if configuration for requested bridge already exists.

Validating the bridge certificates.

Creating the device in Cumulocity cloud.

Saving configuration for requested bridge.

Restarting mosquitto service.

**Error: failed to connect Cumulocity cloud.

Caused by:
Service command <"/sbin/rc-service mosquitto restart"> failed with code: 1.**

It might be useful if you can provide a few more details about how you ran this. The example is showing the docker compose usage, so I'm not 100% sure how it maps to rancher (having never used rancher personally).

In general the normal troubleshooting questions always apply and assist with the debugging process (so we can assist you to get a solution to you faster)

• What commands did you run exactly (this allows people to try and reproduce the error)
• Provide logs for the failed component. Here it is mosquitto (as hinted by the mosquitto restart failed with code: 1, so having the mosquitto logs would be useful /var/log/mosquitto/mosquitto.log

I followed the exact guide on:
https://github.com/thin-edge/thin-edge.io_examples/tree/main/opcua-solution

The error I get when launching:
sudo tedge connect c8y

Everything before that point completed successfully with Rancher (everything should be analogous to Docker).

So everything according to the docs should be self-contained in the docker build up to that point. There is no /var/log/mosquitto folder as I suspect this wasn't installed properly.

Is the documentation incomplete or something failing with the docker compose?
