When using ThingsBoard Cloud and Edge with a customer hierarchy:

• I have created a main customer in the cloud and assigned this customer to an Edge instance.

• The main customer has several users.

• When a user under this main customer logs in to ThingsBoard Cloud and creates subcustomers (child customers), those subcustomers are visible in the cloud.

• If the same user logs in to the connected Edge instance, these subcustomers are not visible from the Edge.

Additionally:
If the subcustomer user (a user created under a subcustomer by the main customer) tries to log in:

• The subcustomer user can log in to ThingsBoard Cloud.
• However, the subcustomer user cannot log in to the Edge instance.

When using ThingsBoard Edge with a customer hierarchy, only the assigned customer and any of its parent customers can log in to that Edge instance.

This means:

• If you assign an Edge to your main customer, that main customer and its users can log in.
• Child customers (subcustomers) and their users cannot log in to that same Edge instance.
• To give a subcustomer access, you must create a separate Edge and assign it directly to that subcustomer.

In other words, you cannot share one Edge between multiple customers in a hierarchy. Each child customer needs its own dedicated Edge if they require Edge access.
