100% Green Energy Farms

On the ThreeFold forum have been speaking to Jakub here about how we can user the excess/surplus green energy produced by a wind farm (or solar farm for that matter) and have pure green energy farms contributing to the grid. In the forum post you will see that in the business of energy distribution it is sometimes difficult to sell produced energy (when the wind is blowing) because there is no demand (middle of the night for example).

Proposal

So I would like to propose (more work needed, but this represents the basic idea). This is a private repo but when we agree this is a good (not bad idea to consider) then I'll take it public to the forum and get some opinions on it from the community.

• introduce the classification "green energy farmer". requirements and how to apply / get approved to be decided.
  • One very important aspect is that a green farmer has to use green energy (wind / solar) at the source (at the production grounds)
• this green energy source might not be 100% available (the business model of the companies is to sell the electricity on energy exchanges. At some points during the days there is no surplus/ excess available to fuel the farm. 3nodes are then switched off (smart PDU)
• minting / rewards need to be made linear to the uptime achieved
• farm capacity needs to be presented in the explorer as 100% green compute and storage
• workloads (contracts) needs to be able to exists and have definitions of using this farm and not fail of the nodes are not available. The smart contract should keep trying to deploy on the farm (selected by farm, not nodes) and the workload should be a analysis type workload that has a start and an end (tensor analysis, rendering, compiling, machine learning, etc etc).
• once the smart contract is complete (might have taken a few days including downtime. the smart contract ends.
