What's next for WebExtension Experiments?

Hello,

I am a developer of a small extension that is highly reliant on the calendar experiment.
I am planning to work more on that plugin but I'm worried that WebExtension Experiments may not be maintained anymore - as the last commit dates from 9 months ago. Also, as my plugin use WebExtension Experiments, I have to constantly update the compatible Thunderbird version (strict_max_version must be set and target an existing version).

Could you give a bit of an overview of what's to come for WebExtension Experiments?

Hi @LouisJULIEN . I eventually plan to make the calendar API part of Thunderbird's core, though it hasn't been a priority with all the other things going on. Once that is the case you no longer need to use the experiment, and hence don't need to bump the version. Until them unfortunately it is inherent to experiments that you'll need to test and bump for each version.

In the meanwhile, I've ported the Provider for Google Calendar to use the calendar experiment. I plan to release the version with the experiment soon. There are a lot of users on that add-on, so I suspect they will quickly report if something is broken and I can change it.

There are a few pending changes on #55 that are a bit more recent, and I appreciate any further pull requests or nudges that something is broken. Best way to reach me is likely via the add-on developers Matrix room.
