Is there a way to use system_variables as a custom filter/script arg?

Im trying to use a system_variable as an arg for one of my custom filters but the {{var_name}} syntax auto formats to something which doesn't work.

Example:

This is what I want to achieve:
{{ @ | customFilter(arg1, arg2, {{arg3_from_system_var}}) }}

However, for some reason, it auto formats to this:
{{ @ | customFilter(arg1, arg2, {{arg3_from_system_var) }}}}

Hm actually if you specify the system variable in the input, it works.

This is good enough for me at the moment
