oneof is not compiling

I have set the following response in my proto file:

  oneof response_kind {

}

The code generated by this:

When compiling I get the error:

TS2339: Property 'available' does not exist on type '{ oneofKind: "available"; available: boolean; } | { oneofKind: undefined; }'. 
Property 'available' does not exist on type '{ oneofKind: undefined; }'.

Do any of you know how should I handle this "oneof" case?
Can't figure it out, was thinking to use message.responseKind["available"] instead of message.responseKind.available etc.

According to the manual you must have strictNullChecks or strict set to true in your tsconfig. Alternatively you can disable type-checking in the generated code with --ts_opt ts_nocheck passed to protoc.

I did figure this out, I just didn't figure out how to disable this for the generated files only.
