🚀 Feature Request: Add hotkey to pronounce selected text #1103
Description
Please confirm the following:
- I have carefully read the README
- I have searched through the issues page and didn't find a similar feature request.(Including issue that has been closed)
- Easydict has been upgraded to the latest version
- I understand and agree to the above, and understand that the project maintainer has limited energy, issues that do not follow the rules may be ignored or closed directly
Feature description
Like the hotkey to translate selected text, can you add a hotkey to pronounce the selected text?
Extra options for the feature:
- Force-select the language
- Show or hide the mini-window
Below is my Keyboard Maestro macro to accomplish this. It:
- Presses option-D to activate the mini-window and to the translation
- Clicks on the language auto-detect and ensures that it is set to French (the language I'm learning)
- Clicks on the icon to pronounce the word.
I have bound this macro to a hotkey.
It would be nice if the app had this feature built-in.
Use case
In addition to seeing the translation, one might want to hear how the text is spoken by a native speaker. That way you can practice your pronunciation.
