How to self host affine

This is for running the full server setup. If you just want to use AFFiNE in the browser on your local machine without having a central storage for it, then you can just open app.affine.pro . The data will be stored locally in your browser

I don't understand that selfhost, as it uses only a docker compose. No way to get it straight forward from a repo.
Would love to compile it for Yunohost users. But I don't know how to do.

That will depend on the purpose.

Are you looking for 1. to host the AFFiNE frontend so people can use the tool in their browser and store the data locally or 2. a server that allows for collaboration and central storage of workspaces and their content?

The first one is rather simple - you just need to build the frontend and host the output (mostly static HTML, CSS and Javascript files) somehow. Users navigate to your site in their browser and can use AFFiNE right in the browser. Data is stored locally in the browser cache, so collaboration or syncing is not possible as is.

The second is a bit more complex. You need to install, set up and orchestrate services such as PostgreSQL, Mailhog and Redis in addition to building and hosting the backend service. Your frontend will then connect to this backend.
