How do I open :G when I have an oil (stevearc/oil.nvim) window open?

I've recently been using oil more and more, and I keep running into not being able to launch the fugitive status window when I have an oil window focused.

fugitive: file does not belong to a Git repository

I assume fugitive uses the current buffer to resolve which git repo to work on, and understandably, it doesn't know what to make of oil:///foo/bar.

Are there any good ways to solve this? I'd be happy with either:

• When the current buffer file name is a URI to a local file path, resolve the git repo from that path
• Always open git status window for cwd rather than resolve from current buffer file name

Immediately realized this works by default and my issues were due to a config brain fart on my end.
