Is there a way to make log buffer :G log live updatable?

I often do lot of rebasing, amending etc. In order to keep doing further work, I need to close the log buffer to have updated SHAs.
I understand that making it update all the time could be very resource intensive for large repos, but maybe having a flag that would self-update when I enter the buffer would work for me.
