Options not clear/not working

Updated from 7.9 to New Client via PlayStore.
Cant get Distance Feature to work on 3 Devices. Set the distance to 100m. And Time to 30 seconds... not getting Updates in the desired distance nor timeframe. getting Updates barely every 1 Minute and thats way too long.

In 7.9 i got Updates every 5 Minutes when not moving and every 100m when moving. Worked like a charm. Now i cant see differences when i change settings at all. The only way i get it to work is setting to highest location accuracy, but then gps is always on. (Accuracy Middle was my way to go for the last 3 Years).

The 3 Devices are Galaxy S25Ultra, Redmi Note 15 Pro and Galaxy S21+.

Location and Battery Settings are all correct (every device is tracked and none goes offline).

Highest accuracy should match the old app behavior.

Is there any documentation that explains the three (now four) options? I’d really like to understand how they’re intended to work.

Personally, I would expect the client’s location-accuracy settings to behave like this:

Low: No GPS at all, only mobile-network positioning.
Medium: GPS stays off, but gets briefly activated when the interval timer triggers.
The location update waits until GPS accuracy reaches 100 m or better.
High: GPS stays off, but gets briefly activated when the interval timer triggers,
and the location is sent once GPS accuracy reaches 10 m or better.
Highest: GPS stays active all the time. (This option should be selected automatically
when the distance-based reporting mode is enabled.)

You mentioned that setting accuracy to High turns off GPS when the device isn’t moving. That’s not what I’m seeing on two of my devices (I can’t test the third right now).
On those devices, the GPS stays active continuously, which results in noticeably higher power consumption.

There's no clear documentation from Google or Apple on how those work.
