New EC2 instance and can't SSH into it

I'm trying to SSH into the new EC2 instance created by algo on port 22. I opened up the port in the firewall. It just times out. Do I need a Key? Is it a different port?

When you deploy to a supported cloud provider Algo changes the SSH port to 4160. You can change the port prior to deployment by editing config.cfg.

Algo prints out the command to use to SSH into your instance when the deployment completes.

The key is in configs/algo.pem. All of the necessary SSH parameters are written to configs/<server_ip>/ssh_config.

How do I get to the key that is stored on the server if I can't SSH into it to get it?

It's in the directory where you ran ./algo, which I'm assuming is not on the server itself because you wrote you were using a "new EC2 instance created by algo".

Oh I erased that. Time to create a new instance. I get it all now! THANKS! A LOT!

The configs directory is where all of the files used to configure your VPN clients are stored. You'll want to keep it around for the life of your server.

BTW, the easiest way to delete an instance from EC2 is by deleting the CloudFormation stack.
