Average Time to set up? Is there a benchmark?

Hi,

Been using Algo for a long time, almost since it came out. Really great, love it.

Lately I've been seeing that deployments take longer than before. so I've started clocking them. I use GCE and its now taking me about 12.5 minutes to deploy and install the VPN server. I use the -e flags and have all the settings setup when I run the original command.

Is there any benchmarks or other data on how long it's taking? It would be nice if we can gather up the data from different cloud providers/deployments methods to find the quickest ones.

One way you can speed up deployments is to disable IPsec if you don't use it by setting ipsec_enabled: false in config.cfg.

I suggest you ignore Algo releases and always use a current copy, as discussed in #1922.

Can this also be used to disable wireguard setup? I prefer to just use IPsec

Yes, you can use wireguard_enabled: false. That will speed up deployments, but not as much as disabling IPsec, which I think takes longer.
