FF7 is already running...

The game is on Steam. The latest release 7th Heaven Canary. Mods installed according to the guide (the 16 best mods for 2026). Everything was fine for a few days, but since yesterday, the error shown in the picture has been popping up. I have no idea how to fix it. Do I have to reinstall and re-configure everything?

I didn't change anything, I didn't install anything new, I just turned on the PC and wanted to run the game...

If that popup shows up is because it detects another instance of the game running somehow. If that's the case I have no idea why, but feel free to check your task manager. In any case, I'd suggest joining our Discord channels for faster and better support. Cheers!

Yes, I know what this message means, but I am 100% sure that there is no second instance of the game running in the background. Task manager is "clear".
As I mentioned, I wasn't doing anything else besides playing normally. And then, suddenly, one day, boom, this error. Unfortunately, I don't use Discord. I'll try reinstalling everything. Sigh...
