Hi to all, I have purchased the 8600T with 16Gb RAM, and I am getting information about how to install everything. My main doubt at the moment is Docker, I would like to learn the best method to use it. As far as i can tell, the main differences between an LXC and a VM are:
But I am not sure if the above is completely true. Or if it is, I am not clear if I should go to the route of LXC Docker, LXC Linux or LXC script. And in the case of the LXC script,, why would you not create it with Alpine Linux. Thanks! |

Hi, I do not really understand the difference or the advantage of using an LXC containter instead of a docker container over a Linux distribution.
On the other hand, there are several scripts that says that you can use Alpine Linux to create the LXC container with faster creation time and minimal resources. What is the disadvantage? Why not always use that way if it seem to be much better?
At last, I am confused about how the creation of other docker containers. Should be done: by installing any Operative system LXC or by using the Docker LXC . In both methods I cannot see how the resources escalate (the docker LXC takes 1 Gb RAM, as an example)
Sorry if I am asking pretty basic questions, but I am completely new to Proxmox.
I would be very grateful if you could explain a bit the above or tell me where to study those questions.
I am trying to get convinced to upgrade from a RPi4 to a X86 VM With Proxmox, but I want to be clear in the advantages.
Thanks for your comments!
