No output from bash script

[Mymend]

For some reason I get no output from the scripts when inputing them to the shell. Can't figure out what's wrong.

root@pve1:~# ping -c 1 -q github.com >&/dev/null
if [ $? != "0" ]; then echo "Internet Not Connected"; else echo "Internet Connected"; fi
Internet Connected

Finally got it working. No idea what I did differently.
