Updating MariaDB

Does anyone know how to update the MariaDB to the latest version without creating a new LXC and migrating the data?

Hi, with the "mariadb.sh" directly execute into the LXC container. There is a function "update_script" who manages this.

Or with sudo apt update / sudo apt upgrade ?

Remember to take a snapshot and/or backup just before :)

The MariaDB is installed via the Debian package manager, using their repository, so an apt update && apt upgrade takes care of updating. Show the output of cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mariadb.list

got it updated. thanks for the quick responses @tteck @popallo

What I did is

• update /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mariadb.list replacing bullseye with bookworm

then

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get full-upgrade

and again

sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get full-upgrade
sudo apt-get autoremove

and then re-started the LXC.

I'm now on the latest MariaDB:

probably won't any difference, but I feel I did something useful today! happy weekend everyone
