Simplest way to have a chrome browser running. Light weight

One thing I haven't solved is being able ot get Gmail to poll my other pop3 email accounts. There is a solution for chrome browser extension if you have it open and running 24/7, which will go and do that task frequently. The only machine I have constantly on is my proxmox server.

So question is, what is the lightest weight container I can run to do just that, give me an easy access chrome web browser, to open and leave running so it will do the task in the background. Ideally also a way to make the browser re-open in the container if it is restarted.

Guessing some sort of OS like Debian or Ubuntu?
