paperless-ngx passtrough hdd

Hi, i only know paperless as docker container. Could someone tell me how to passtrough a hdd to give paperless space for documents?

I have increased the LXC container size, but I think it is also possible using the paperless.conf to change the directory the media is stored (for example an NFS share)
