Garmin maps - displaying objects details on tap #628

Garmin TYP file contains information if the object's name shall be displayed or not. In helps improve map readability as usually such names are obsolete. GPXSee properly handles such information and hides names which are not needed. However, Garmin devices display such hidden names when a cursor is moved over objects (GPSMAP) or their position is tapped on a touch screen (Fenix 7 watches). The same feature is present in OpenStreetMap web page (however it is no such handy like in Garmin).

It would be perfect to have such feature in the GPXSee (ideally not limited only to GARMIN maps). When you tap on the map position it should display (for a while) a pop up with a short list of surrounding objects and their names.

Worth to mention that GPXSee currently provides the best Garmin map rendering on Android platform, but this feature is really missing. When you are interested in the particular object (poi/line/region) you would like to get as much information as possible.

Kind regards
Tomasz
