There are probably no solutions (it would take a crazy programmer who can handle this at e.g. the uc.js level or omni.ja if someone need sandboxing), because from January July 2026 such a declaration would have to be in the manifest.json file anyway.

The bypasses left are forks like in 128+ version:

I haven't found a hard/final date, so if there's a major setback on Mozilla's side, it might shift from July 2026 to a later date due to technical issues.

So 34 days turns into some 213.

Unless once declared data_collection_permissions can be revoked only after contacting technical support (e.g. undo something at their database level).

I won't reverse the change. Ultimately, people using old unsupported versions of Firefox on old unsupported version of Windows surely won't mind using uBO 1.67.0. Having known the issue before publishing stable I would have held back on the change but now that is done, I like to see the "Data Collection" section explicitly declaring no data collection straight into the "Permissions and data" page.

It's not just Windows. FF115 ESR is also the last supported version on older MacOS like High Sierra and Mojave - on Macs that cannot upgrade but otherwise are perfectly usable. Chrome/Edge dropped that support long time ago

Version 115.31.0 RC1 has seen this parameter marked as a minor bug (allowing the add-on to be used with at least the "none" setting).

Release 1.67.1.6 installation successful. We can only hope that there will not be many dangerous regressions requiring a rollback to the minimum version back to ≈92 (when we can not switch to a newer fork of browser or a system supported by the manufacturer).

Apparently the developers didn't want to cut off the releases from add-ons so much when someone can update to at least version 115.31.0+.
