Introduction - interested in contributing and getting started

Hi everyone , I’m Ritu, an undergraduate student from India interested in contributing to Alaska’s projects through GSoC.

I’ve gone through the contributor guide and I’m starting to explore the repositories and previous discussions. My goal right now is to understand the workflows and begin with small, meaningful contributions before moving into a specific project idea.

Could you please suggest:
• a good “first issue” or part of the codebase that new contributors usually start with, and
• any project-specific discussions I should follow at this stage?

I’ll keep my questions in the appropriate project discussion forums as recommended. I’m excited to learn from the community and contribute consistently.
