Twitter style mentions and hashtags

I'm trying to implement Twitter style hashtags using the mentions plugin and am struggling with the base UX it provides.

I want to have it so it exits on the same line when you hit space but can't find a way to control the plugins input behaviour. I'm just wondering if there is a way to do it with this plugin or if I need to build a custom plugin to handle this behaviour?

I figured out a way to do this using createAutoformatPlugin and a custom rule and then creating a createHashtagPlugin to handle the rendering. The last part was a useEffect function to add the # back into the rendering.

This works for now, I want to work out a way next to control the rendering of the span and make sure the # gets appended back.
