ESP_INTR_ALLOC.h - static inline int esp_intr_flags_to_level(int flags)

I'm unable to flash this to my device using the suggested version from April for the 500k baud rate. I'm getting an error in compiling in the line

static inline int esp_intr_flags_to_level(int flags)

with "exit status 1
redefinition of 'int esp_intr_flags_to_level(int)' "

in ESP_INTR_ALLOC.h

I got the same error, when trying to compile the working project, just half a year later. I think the issue is, that one of the used libraries was updated, and the "old" implementation does not fit to the new library.
My workaround was, to remove (or comment-out) the function esp_intr_flags_to_level,
as visible in the commit 1e71794#diff-76ae6c12d9d255cf4d093934cedede049dea05fc7bd132352daadb5ba5f3da69

I got more of similar issues, for which the workarounds are also part of the mentioned commit. E.g.

• The number of paramters of twai_hal_init() changed.
• WiFi.enableIpV6() was renamed to WiFi.enableIPv6()
• WiFi.localIPv6() was renamed to WiFi.localIP()
• Pin35 as mode selection input did not work anymore. Reason unknown. Changed to pin8, which works.
  Depending on the local library situation, some/all/none of these patches maybe necessary to run the project successfully.

Overall a quite bad situation, a library which was changed ("in the background") breaks a working project. I have no idea whether there is an official way from Arduino to prevent or mitigate such topics.
