Edit preview with live updates

Hi guys,

Maybe I misread the documentation, but is it possible to set the preview mode into edit, but not show the preview in a separate window?

As I edit, I want the content to update directly in the editor

@jaywcjlove sorry maybe I'm misunderstanding, in your comment/example are you saying the current version of the MDEditor doesn't support live updates, which is what I'm currently seeking? And if so, are there any internal plans on making this feature possible?

I can see there is a old pending PR for implementing this feature: #669
