Improve deployment time

Given all the changes in v16, including Monaco and the new back office, deployment times are very long. It can take 20-30 minutes even for a small site over broadband. Have you considered packaging up the wwwroot/umbraco folder as a ZIP file or other format, and extract it on first launch or when the timestamp indicates it should be unpacked?

For me, deployments usually take just 2-3 minutes (using Web Deploy), even with Umbraco v16 and the new back office.
So far, I haven’t experienced any significant delays compared to older versions.

Out of curiosity, how do you handle your deployments?

I wrote a tool called fdeploy which performs a file-based copy. A normal deployment is quick for me as well. This issue is for full deployments, or ones performed after an upgrade where back office files change.
